Dwight Kanae
Bio
Dwight Kanae has been playing the `ukulele since he was a small kid growing up in Kāneʻohe, O'ahu. His passion for music led him to Guitar at the age of fourteen, and he credits his mother Pearl for introducing and mentoring him in Slack-Key Guitar. His musical talent and style made him well-known and highly sought after by entertainers and audiences throughout the islands. He has played and recorded with some of Hawai`i’s greats; Malani Bilyeu, Martin Pahinui, Palani Vaughn, Moe Keale, Kelly Boy Delima, Makaha Sons, Jake Shimabukuro…to name a few. He was a member of the “Peter Moon Band,” an alternate member of the “Sons of Hawai`i,” one half of the Duo “Kāne`ohe” and Solo performer with the Hawaiian Slack Key Guitar Festival's annual "Kihoalu Concert Series" by Milton Lau - since 2004. Prior to COIVD, Dwight delighted audiences throughout Waikiki and looks forward to rekindling his appearances as he safely moves into 2021.
