2024 Kani Ka Pila Talent Search winner, Rickey Kamai is an up-and-coming artist from Honolulu, Hawaiʻi, blending island reggae and country influences into a unique sound all his own. With radio singles like “The Get Around” and “My Last Name,” Rickey’s passion for music is as boundless as his drive to create something fresh and captivating, quickly earning him a place as a fan favorite in the music scene.
Deeply rooted in a musical family with ties to the legendary band Hulili and The Palasades, Rickey was raised on a blend of Hawaiian melodies, church hymns, and a wide array of genres. His sound fuses old-school Hawaiian music with R&B, reggae, Top 40, and more—drawing inspiration from artists like Earth, Wind & Fire, Ray Charles, Prince, and Stevie Ray Vaughan.
