Bio
Born into the renowned musical Apana family of Kapa’a, Kaua`i, Mele Apana was raised to share singing, dancing, laughter, and smiles as a part of everyday life. A proud graduate of the Kamehameha Schools, Mele Apana has become a prominent voice in Hawaiߵi. A Radio and TV personality for over 30 years, she worked as an entertainment reporter on KHNL and Hawaii News Now and radio talent for HAWAIIAN 105 KINE, KCCNFM100, ISLAND98.5, POWER104.3 and co-hosted the Hawaiian Airlines Music Show with BillyV. Mele is also a philanthropist, teacher, pa’u rider, concert promoter, and actor, most recently appearing as Lahela “Doogie’s” eccentric Aunty on “Doogie Kamealoha.” Mele’s outstanding work in the music industry and community is unparalleled, propelling her to become one of Hawaiߵi’s most revered personalities and emcees.
