Kamaka Camarillo
Bio
Kamaka Camarillo is a native of Kihei, Maui, and born into the impressive line of local music educators and performers. His father, Rama, is credited for starting the Kalama Intermediate ‘Ukulele Band, his Aunt is multi Nā Hōkū Hanohano Award winner, Lehua Kalima of Na Leo Pilimehana and his brother is Nā Hōkū Hanohano Award winner Kala`e Camarillo. Kamaka has performed at musical venues on O`ahu for the last 8 years and is currently a music teacher at Kaiser High School. His 2018 single with Wikz, “E Pi‘i Mai,” was released in 2018 and garnered multiple nominations for the 2019 Nā Hōkū Hanohano Awards and Island Music Awards. A year later, his 2019 debut album “S.O.U.L. Songs of Unexpected Life,” won the 2020 Nā Hōkū Hanohano R&B Album of the Year.
