Nā Hōkū Hanohano Award-nominated artist Anthony Pfluke is one to watch.
Born and raised on Maui, Anthony has been rooted in Hawaiian music from an early age, forging an original path that honors and perpetuates the music and culture of his home. That foundation is further deepened as he continues his studies in Hawaiian Culture.
With a sound that blends Hawaiian, and contemporary influences, he is recognized for his engaging performances on ‘ukulele, 12-string and 6-string kīho‘alu (slack key guitar), and his soulful vocals.
Anthony has performed across the Hawaiian Islands, the West Coast, and Japan. He has shared the stage with legendary artists such as Henry Kapono, Amy Hānaiali‘i, and Brother Noland. He has also had the honor of opening for musical icons Jerry Santos, Keola Beamer, Taimane, and Josh Tatofi.
With a commitment to meaningful storytelling, Anthony was commissioned to write a song for the launch of Mo‘okiha O Pi‘ilani, Maui’s traditional Hawaiian voyaging canoe, and then two of his original songs: “Kuʻu Lei Aloha” and “We Will Rise,” accompanied the Lei of Aloha for World Peace on its global journeys of healing
