The HKF COVID19 Basic Essentials Relief program distributed $180K worth of Foodland Gift Cards to Hawai`i’s music industry

HKF COVID 19 Basic Essentials Relief for Hawai`i’s Music Community April 1, 2020 through August 31, 2020

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic and state lockdown in March 2020, the Henry Kapono Foundation, its board members, in partnership with the Kawakami Family and with support from local company Foodland, realized the urgent & immediate need for home-based, sole proprietor entertainment industry professionals in the State of Hawai`i to secure “basic essentials” and receive relief from the lost gigs, lessons, recording sessions and other music-related professional work.

The Henry Kapono Foundation’s “We Are Friends… COVID-19 Relief Fund” is honored to have raised the funds to provide $180K in Foodland gift cards for over 360 music families to help our fellow music professionals.

Please Note: The Program Closed August 31, 2020
